After a long absence, stage combat classes return to the Denver Center Theatre Academy this summer.
In July of 2010 the DCTA will offer a five week intensive on theatrical firearms safety. This workshop will provide participants the opportunity to work extensively with blank fire weapons including revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. The perfect course for actors, directors, and stage managers, this will conclude with the opportunity to test for Society of American Fight Directors skills proficiency in the safe handling of theatrical firearms. In addition to safe loading, handling and unloading of our blank fire weapons, students will have multiple opportunities, outside of the pressure of an actual performance, to fire each type of weapon with hands on instruction. All equipment provided.
When: Saturdays, 9am-12pm
Instructor: Geoffrey Kent
Start: July 10th
End August 7th
*An additional $25 testing fee will be required for SAFD certification.
